Centro Vasco Argentino Zingirako Euskaldunak

The Centro Vasco Argentino Zingirako Euskaldunak, “the Basques of the lagoon”, is the Basque centre of Chascomús, constituted in 1952 and refounded in 1991. It was formally born under the presidency of Martín Larralde at the Club de Pelota Chascomús, founded in 1925 and built in Basque style; after a dormant period it got going again with José Ochoa as president. For years it organised the Udaleku, the Basque-Argentine summer camp for children, and in its day it received a visit from the first two lehendakaris (presidents of the Basque Government).
