Fundación Centro Vasco Euskal Etxea

The Fundación Centro Vasco Euskal Etxea in Bogotá was the first Basque centre in Colombia to be recognised by the Basque Government, on 17 June 2003. It was not the city's first Basque house: the community had founded its Centro Vasco there in 1958. It was set up under the sponsorship of the Basque Parliament, through a law of 1994, and has an agreement with the University of the Basque Country for cultural projects in Colombia. Seven years later came the country's second recognised centre, the Casa Vasca de Antioquia, in Medellín. Its register lists 82 members.
