Basque Society - Euskal Elkartea

The Basque Society-Euskal Elkartea, better known as the London Basque Society, is the only recognised Basque centre in the United Kingdom. It was already up and running when it entered the British register of societies in 1999, and the Basque Government recognised it on 27 April that same year. It is based at Oxford House, on Derbyshire Street, in Bethnal Green, and it organises cultural events, presentations of Basque books, Basque classes, a children's club and workshops, such as one on Basque pelota. The register credits it with 377 members.
