Zazpiak Bat Basque Club

The Zazpiak Bat Basque Club of Reno (Nevada) was founded in September 1966, when 33 people paid 3 dollars each as their membership fee. Its first event was a San Martín dance, in November of that year, and the club still holds it. Reno's annual Basque festival, held since 1966 in Wingfield Park, in the city centre, brings together strength contests (stone lifting, log chopping), dance, food and a mus tournament; in 2026 it reached its 58th edition. The Basque Government recognised the club in 1998.
