About the centre
The Euskal Etxea Juan L. Lacaze, in the department of Colonia, was the first of the Basque centres that joined in Uruguay with the new century. The Basque Government recognised it on 7 November 2006; after it came those of San José de Mayo (2009), Flores (2010) and Florida (2019).
