Limako Arantzazu Euzko Etxea - Lima Basque Center

The Limako Arantzazu Euzko Etxea was born in 2019, promoted by the Hermandad de Nuestra Señora de Aránzazu, the confraternity that the Basques of Lima founded in 1612. According to the historian José de la Puente Brunke, that brotherhood was the first confraternity formed by the Basque community in the Americas; it lost its property in the nineteenth century and returned to public life with its four-hundredth anniversary, in 2012. The Basque Government recognised the new centre on 27 July 2021, and it is the most recent to join the register in Peru.
