Euzkal Etxea - Casa Vasca

The Euskal Etxea of Lima was the first Basque centre in the world recognised by the Basque Government after the 1994 law. The Governing Council approved it on 28 February 1995, and in the register it holds entry number 051.01.001.01. Behind it lies an earlier Centro Vasco, founded in Lima in 1950, which disappeared; the present Euskal Etxea re-emerged from it in 1986. It spent thirty years in the same premises in Miraflores, and in March 2019 it opened new premises in that same district. In 2024 it presented “La ruta vasca en Lima”, a route around the places in the city that bear a Basque imprint, the result of a research project begun in 2012.
