Club Vasco Argentino Gure Echea

The Club Vasco Argentino Gure Echea was founded on 10 August 1929 by a group of young Laurak Bat members who wanted a club of their own in Balvanera, Buenos Aires. Nobody lent them money: they raised it themselves to buy the plot on the street then called Cangallo, the same street on which the Laurak Bat had been founded in 1877 and which is now called Juan Domingo Perón. The President of the Nation, José F. Uriburu, attended the laying of the foundation stone. Today it is a social and sports club, with a heated semi-Olympic swimming pool, a pelota paleta court and the Coral Vasco Argentina Alkartasuna choir. The Basque Government has recognised it since 11 January 2005, with 101 members in its register.
